Top Signs It's Time to Change Your Real Estate Agent

When you are selling your home, you need to have a level of trust with your real estate agent. You are putting a lot of trust into their ability to sell your home as quickly as possible while getting you the best deal. There are times, however, that you may feel it's time to move on and hire a new real estate agent that might better suit your needs.

What are the top signs that it's time to change your real estate agent? Here are four.

They Aren't Responsive to Your Calls

One of the top reasons you might want to change your real estate agent is that you are no longer receiving quick answers to your calls. Real estate agents usually have many clients, and it might take an hour or two for them to answer. But it should never be longer than a day. If they aren't returning your calls, texts, or emails, they either aren't making you a priority or they have taken on too many clients. It's probably best to find an agent whom you know will give you regular updates and return your inquiries in a fast and efficient manner.

You Aren't Getting Showings

If you find that your agent isn't scheduling showings on a regular basis, it might be time to change your real estate agent. The same is true if you are buying a home and aren't hearing from your buyer's agent about showings. Consider changing agents to one who will take care of your needs and ensure that your house gets seen by potential buyers.

They Are Not From Your Area

You might have hired an agent because of a recommendation from a friend or family member, but it's possible that they focus outside your target area. They may have limited knowledge of your area and the needs of those who live there. It's better to hire an agent who has extensive knowledge of your area and knows information about local schools, shopping, and activities in the region. A local agent will also know about local taxes and any new developments in the area.

They Are Too Pushy

When you hire a real estate agent, you want one who is attentive to your needs and who keeps your budget, lifestyle, and the kind of neighborhood you are looking for in mind. They will find a home to match your needs and not try to push a home that does not fit into what you have asked for. They shouldn't be too pushy and try to get you to see or buy homes that you do not want simply to make a sale.

Always go with an agent who listens to you and works with you to find you the perfect home.
